This historic and fantastic piece has one of the very best patinas on it. This is the metal megaphone from Mary Immaculate High School in Key West, Florida. The finish is wonderful and weathered from years of use and being painted to match the times and celebration. The megaphone is 28" tall and has a 13" opening on completion. The school, which belonged to the the oldest Catholic School in the state of Florida, closed its doors in 1986. I can make out the "M.I.H. S" and a "76" on an under layer and the word "CONCHS" is on the outermost, repainted in red. There are several layers of paint under the "76" so its seen it years of use. This is an excellent piece and really most likely a one of a kind and MUST have for any Key West or Conch Republic collector. It was recently discovered buried in an attic in central Florida. $500.
